Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust was chosen to be one of 16 NHS acute Global Digital Exemplars in 2016. We launched a two-year programme of work, involving more than 50 separate digital projects.
Our vision is to become an internationally recognised NHS provider, delivering exceptional care, through the use of world-class digital technology and information.
This is a key part of the NHS Driving Digital Maturity programme which aims to ensure the NHS is paper free at the point of care.
Here at Salford Royal, we are sharing our learning and experiences to enable other NHS trusts to follow in our footsteps as quickly and effectively as possible. We have already partnered with Pennine Acute NHS Trust to share proven models and standard methodologies and processes.
More than 50 separate digital projects are involved in the programme. Its overall objectives are:
- Enabling technology – demonstrating ability to achieve highest NHS digital maturity status by applying leading edge technology
- Optimising digital – harnessing digital technology to transform care in Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
- Establishing a Digital Health and Care Centre to spread knowledge and provide a platform for wider commercial opportunities
- Developing a Digital Experience Centre and Digital Learning Network to support digital transformation.
